What do you understand by religion? Is it a mystical experience, a set of doctrines, or both? 你 知 道 什 么 是 宗 教 吗？ 它 是 一 种 神 秘 经 历 还 是 一 套 教 义 或 两 者 都 是？

Durkheim, a sociologist, said that a religion may be defined as a system which separates the sacred from the profane in a society: 社 会 学 家 德 克 黑 姆 把 宗 教 定 义 为 一 个 把 社 会 的 神 圣 与 世 俗 分 开 的 系 统。
　 　
"A religion is a unified system of beliefs and practices relative to sacred things -- that is to say things set apart and forbidden-beliefs and practices which unite into a single moral community, called a Church, all those who adhere to them."宗 教 是 一 个 把 与 神 圣 事 物 （即 与 众 不 同 或 禁 止 的 事 物） 有 关 的 信 仰 和 实 践 相 统 一 的 系 统， 统 一 于 一 个 单 独 道 德 实 体 即 教 堂， 及 其 周 围 的 人 群。

For some people in Britain the institutions of the established churches are the foundations for their beliefs and practices, and their religion will provide the guidelines for their ethical system. 对 于 英 国 的 一 些 人 来 说， 教 会 系 统 是 他 们 信 仰 和 实 践 的 基 础， 他 们 的 宗 教 为 自 己 的 民 族 提 供 指 导 原 则。
